Entrance hymn:  See Him Lying On A Bed Of Straw (Calypso Carol)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FUav5VjPV4  (Royal Albert Hall)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7Yukt2LiI8

See Him lying on a bed of straw
A draughty stable with an open door
Mary cradling the Babe she bore
The Prince of Glory is His name

Chorus :
O now carry me to Bethlehem
To see the Lord of love again
Just as poor as was the stable then
The Prince of Glory when He came

Star of silver, sweep across the skies
Show where Jesus in the manger lies
Shepherds swiftly from your stupor rise
To see the Saviour of the world (chorus)

Angels, sing again the song you sang
Sing the glory of God's gracious plan
Sing that Bethlehem's little Baby can
Be The Saviour of us all (chorus)

Mine are riches from Your poverty
From Your innocence, eternity
Mine, forgiveness by Your death for me
Child of sorrow for my joy (chorus)

GLORIA 120 Christmastide Gloria 2: Joyful News (tune of Angels we have heard on high)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw-sFhuCnxA
Joyful news to you I bring
Christ the Lord is here on earth,
our Redeemer and our King
sing with gladness at his birth.

Refrain:
Glo----ria in excelsis Deo,
Glo----ria in excelsis Deo.

Joyful news to you I bring:
Jesus Christ is born tonight,
Now let all the heavens ring:
praises to the Lord of light.

Joyful news to you I bring:
Jesus Christ, a living sign,
for our human ransoming
comes to us through love divine.

Joyful news we sing today:
incarnation, living bread,
passion, taking sin away,
resurrection from the dead.

Nativity play
1. The Annunciation (The Angel Gabriel – No. 113 verses 1-2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKQIomtXXkc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF2BzUDeTkY

The angel Gabriel from Heaven came,
His wings as drifted snow, his eyes as flame;
“All hail,” said he, “thou lowly maiden Mary,
Most highly favoured lady,” Gloria!

“For known a blessèd mother thou shalt be,
All generations laud and honour thee,
Thy Son shall be Emmanuel, by seers foretold,
Most highly favoured lady,” Gloria!

2. The Visitation (The Angel Gabriel – No. 113 verses 3-4)

Then gentle Mary meekly bowed her head,
“To me be as it pleaseth God,” she said,
“My soul shall laud and magnify His holy Name.”
Most highly favoured lady, Gloria!

Of her, Emmanuel, the Christ, was born
In Bethlehem, all on a Christmas morn,
And Christian folk throughout the world will ever say
“Most highly favoured lady,” Gloria!

3. Joseph's Dream (O come, O come Emanuel – No. 112 verses 1 and 5)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWLltU9ayFc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxPynSu2LGE

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear

Refrain:
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery. (Refrain)

4. The birth of Jesus (O little town of Bethlehem – No. 127 verses 1 and 4)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql0CnTY49mc

O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight

O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born in us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel

5. The announcement to the Shepherds (The First Nowell – No. 150 verses 1 and 2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mItWsC8RtM

The First Nowell, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Refrain:
Nowell, Nowell, Nowell, Nowell
Born is the King of Israel!

They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night. (Refrain)

6. The Wise Men follow the star (The First Nowell – No. 150 verses 3 and 5)

And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went. (Refrain)

Then entered in those wise men three
Full reverently upon their knee
And offered there in His presence
Their gold and myrrh and frankincense. (Refrain)

7. Mary’s joy (What child is this – No. 145 verses 1-3)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz44GJlSPeo

What Child is this, who laid to rest,
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
come, greet the infant Lord,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

Why lies He in such mean estate
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear; for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear, shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne, for me, for you:
Hail, hail, the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come peasant, king, to own Him.
The King of kings salvation brings;
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise, the song on high,
The Virgin sings her lullaby:
Joy joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

Homily
Blessing of the Crib:
Procession to the crib (Come, come, come to the manger – No 139 Chorus, Verse 1 and Chorus)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4DUvf7O6Us

Chorus:
Come, come, come to the manger,
Children, come to the children's King;
Sing, sing, chorus of angels,
Stars of morning, o'er Bethlehem sing.

He lies 'mid the beasts of the stall
Who is Maker and Lord of us all;
The wintry wind blows cold and deary,
See, He weeps, the world is weary;
Lord, have pity and mercy on me! (Chorus)

Procession from the crib (Away in the manger – No 137)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9v8vBmbGlis

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head,
The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky,
And stay by my side until morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there.

Offertory hymn  We three kings – No. 170
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3KdCDtbrRo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lx35_DRIZ8g

We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain
Following yonder star.

Refrain:
O Star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.

Born a King on Bethlehem plain,
Gold I bring, to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never,
Over us all to reign. (Refrain)

Frankincense to offer have I,
Incense owns a Deity nigh.
Pray'r and praising, all are raising
Worship Him, God most high. (Refrain)

Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom;
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb. (Refrain)

Glorious now behold Him arise,
King and God and sacrifice.
"Alleluia, alleluia!"
Earth to heaven replies. (Refrain)

Our Father (Boyce and Stanley version)
Our Father, who art in heaven
hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive our weaknesses,
and those who fail us,
trespass against us,
as you forgave let us forgive.
Deliver us, from every evil,
let us not be led astray.
Your kingdom come, your will be done,
as you taught us, Lord, we pray.

For the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, Lord are Yours.
As they are today, will be tomorrow
and shall be forever more
we sing amen, we lift our voices;
with the heavens we proclaim.
Your kingdom come, your will be done,
We sing amen in Jesus' name.
We sing amen in Jesus' name.

Communion hymns:
Immanuel (byMichael Card)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE_tuMpIOho Beautiful version by children's choirs (Songs of Praise)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSEqXbnOrQU

A sign shall be given, a virgin will conceive
A human baby bearing undiminished deity
The glory of the nations a light for all to see
That hope for all who will embrace His warm reality

Refrain:
Immanuel, our God is with us
And if God is with us
Who could stand against us
Our God is with us, Immanuel

Bridge:
For all those who live in the shadow of death
A glorious light has dawned
For all those who stumble in the darkness
Behold your light has come! (refrain)

So what will be your answer?  Will you hear the call?
Of Him who did not spare His son but gave him for us all
On earth there is no power, there is no depth or height
That could ever separate us from the love of God in Christ  (refrain)

Silent Night – No. 136 Silent Night
melody http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n036kBC1HEw
Alto/boys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yww9fwTfvKY
tenor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLrwT6l648w

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright,
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child;
Holy infant so tender and mild;
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night.
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia;
Christ, the Saviour is born,
Christ, the Saviour is born.

Silent night, holy night.
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace:
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

(optional) Oh Holy Night - I can sing solo if no one else is interested - May
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPcecW357RE
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! O hear the angels' voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Before Him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.

Recessional hymn Joy to the world – No. 156
MELODY:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlF8XYWsNmQ
ALTO/BOYS:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DC-xr5qT4LM
TENOR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug5GSi7fp4M
BASS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKAgQTYD2nQ

Joy to the world, the Lord has come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let ev'ry heart prepare Him room,
And heav'n and nature sing,
And heav'n and nature sing,
And heav'n, and heav'n and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Saviour reigns;
Let all their songs employ,
While fields and flocks,
rocks, hills, and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make his blessings flow
far as the curse is found,
far as the curse is found,
far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
the wonders of His love,
the wonders of His love,
the wonders, wonders of His love.
