Hymns for 3rd Sunday of Advent 12 Dec 2010

UPDATES: 11/12: Just added Advent Candle song. (Those attending practice tomorrow (1PM) for Christmas Eve practice please go to Christmas Mass Noticeboard on my blog. Thanks!) http://may-i-g.blogspot.com/2010/11/noticeboard-christmas-eve-childrens.html
10/12 my apologies, I made a mistake about the Entrance hymn: instead of the Entrance Antiphon we're doing 107 The King of Glory Comes and I've put in the lyrics to the alleluia. Also there are performance notes and changes to lyrics for All who are Thirsty (comm. 2)  and  God has Chosen Me (final).

Communion
96 A voice cries out
(Note to parents: the video images can be disturbing - I suggest you minimize the YouTube window so you can just listen & not watch)
(note to singers: if the verses are too difficult, just learn the refrain and I can sing the verses as Cantor. - May) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGzmAwfyYPw

1. Console my people, the ones dear to me:
speak to the heart of Jerusalem:
the time of your mourning is ended now,
the Lord of life will come.

Refrain:
A voice cries out in the wilderness:
Prepare a way for the Lord!
A voice cries out in the wilderness:
Make straight a high-way for God!

2. Ev'ry valley is made a plain,
ev'ry mountain is leveled,
the glory of God shall then be revealed,
and the nations will sing in praise. (refrain)

3. A voice shouts: 'Cry!' O what shall I cry?
'All flesh is like grass and its flowers:
the grass may wither, the flower may fade,
but the word of the Lord is forever.' (refrain)

(same melody as verse 2)
4. Zion, shout from the mountain top,
lift up your voice O Jerusalem,
and say to the people of God's own land,
'Behold, behold your God!' (refrain)

(same melody as verse 1)
5. The Lord will appear as a shepherd,
holding his lambs in his arms,
keeping his flock so close to his heart
leading them all, old and young. (refrain)

All who are Thirsty (Come Lord Jesus Come) by Brenton Brown
for arrangement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIZkf030Xv8
For musicians:  (pls. choose chords in A:)  http://www.worshiparchive.com/song/all-who-are-thirsty
for guitar style & tempo only: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRLKT_w4_RQ (this is a concert version so we won't do this arrangement since it's too long.)

All who are thirsty
And all who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life

Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep, we sing

Come, Lord Jesus, come
Come, Lord Jesus, come
Come, Lord Jesus, come
Come, Lord Jesus, come

All who are thirsty
And all who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life

Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of His mercy
As deep cries out to deep, we sing

Holy Spirit, come
Holy Spirit, come
Holy Spirit, come
Holy Spirit, come

(note I've rearranged the lyrics of the last chorus, soloist sings in brackets)
Come, Lord Jesus, come
Holy Spirit, come (Come and breathe on us again)
Come, Lord Jesus, come
Holy Spirit, come (Come and breathe on us again)

Final   858 God has chosen me  (- performance notes in blue)

to bring good news to the poor.
God has chosen me, God has chosen me
to bring new sight to those searching for light:
God has chosen me, chosen me:

Refrain
And to tell the world that God's kingdom is near,
to remove oppression and breakdown fear,
(children) yes, God's time is near,
(adults) God's time is near,
(children) God's time is near,
(adults) God's time is near.

2. God has chosen me, God has chosen me
to set alight a new fire.
God has chosen me, God has chosen me
to bring to birth a new kingdom on earth:
God has chosen me, chosen me: (refrain)

in all whose cry is unheard.
